The Opportunity
Senior engineers at the company own the design, delivery, and reliability of complex parts of our platform. You'll lead the architecture of new solutions, solve our hardest technical problems, and set the quality bar — increasingly by directing AI coding agents and reviewing their work as rigorously as you'd review a teammate's. You'll mentor other engineers, shape our technical direction, and partner with product and cross-functional teams to make sure what we build serves the business. Deep fundamentals matter more in this role, not less: you can't safely review what an agent produces if you don't deeply understand the systems underneath it.
What You'll Be Doing
- Design & Architecture: Lead the technical design and implementation of major initiatives and product features that meet critical business requirements.
- Author technical designs for large projects and applications, and provide guidance on the business case for pursuing technical changes.
- Manage complex systems and architectures, planning for performance, scale, and reliability from the start.
- Identify the business impact of a technical change, and lead others across the organization in mitigating it.
Why This Role
- Category Leader With Real Traction: 400+ customers (Koch, Liquid Death, Stord, NFI), 500M+ transactions across 10,000 trading partnerships, and #1 rankings on G2's Momentum Grid, Mid-Market Grid and Forrester 2025 Innovators.
- Series C, a16z-Backed: $85M raised from Andreessen Horowitz, GLP Capital, NewRoad and Initialized — the fastest-growing supply chain tech company in North America.
- AI-Native Engineering Culture: Senior engineers direct AI coding agents and review their output like a teammate's. Deep fundamentals are the differentiator, not the thing being replaced.
- Own Major Systems, Fully Remote: Lead architecture of significant product areas end to end, mentor engineers, and shape technical direction — from anywhere in the US or Canada.
Key Requirements
- Growth-stage company background — ideally Series C+, or Series A/B with strong enterprise traction
- Experience building with AI — ships production work using coding agents
- Able to work remote in the US/Canada (PST preferred)
- 5 - 15 years of experience in product engineering
- Distributed systems/messaging experience (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar)
- Expert knowledge of Node.js and TypeScript
- Has owned the technical design of a major system or product area end-to-end
- Product-minded strong communicator
Nice to Have
- Background/experience in SaaS
